President & CEO

Dan Kerpelman has thirty years of professional experience, mostly in healthcare technology. He was recently CEO of the Société Générale de Surveillance in Geneva, Switzerland where he led a $3.5B services company of 46,000 employees, including a life science division engaged in clinical research support. Prior to SGS, he was President of the $2.7B Kodak Health Imaging Group, and Senior Vice-President of the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY. Dan joined Kodak after seventeen years with GE Healthcare, most recently as GM of the Global X-Ray business, based in Paris, France.

Dan is a member of the boards of the University of Rochester Medical Center, XCounter AB, eHealth Global Technologies, Inc. and VirtualScopics, Inc. He has an MBA from Northwestern University, an MS in Computer Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland.

20 years ago, Mike Kamish founded Bio-Optronics with innovation and topnotch customer service as his guiding principles. Today, he finds the company's success to be the result of staying true to these core principles.

Mike spent 10 years at Eastman Kodak Company as a Process Control and Instrumentation Engineer. His engineering background and experience in the manufacturing environment have helped him to create some of the best manufacturing workflow solutions in the industry. Mike's singular approach to software design has also made the company's medical and custom applications incomparable in scope and usability.

He earned a Bachelor's degree with High Honors in Chemical Engineering in 1979 from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and a Masters of Science degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Optics from the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY.

Vice President and Director of Marketing and Operations

Maria joined Bio-Optronics in September of 2008. Maria brings a diverse background, having worked in research and development, manufacturing, product planning, and commercialization, in a number of Kodak’s Health businesses. Maria also held a number of executive leadership positions. She served as the General Manager of Digital Radiography and, most recently, was the General Manager for Worldwide Services, Healthcare Information Solutions, Carestream Health. Maria has a strong track record of improving processes, driving customer responsiveness, and delivering growth.

Maria holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Rochester, as well as an MBA from The William E. Simon School at the University of Rochester.

Michael comes to Bio-Optronics following a very successful and diverse career at the Eastman Kodak Company. During his career at Kodak, he held many executive leadership positions within multiple divisions. He served as the General Manager for the global Micrographics division, as well as recently holding that same title for the global Radiology Film Systems business within the Kodak Health Imaging Group. Most recently, Michael held the position of General Manager for North American Sales and Service, Medical Imaging, for Carestream Health Inc., a privately-owned company formed by the divestiture of the Kodak Health Group in 2007.

Michael has a strong track record building high performance sales teams, designing and implementing mutually-beneficial partner programs, and cultivating strong relationships with large healthcare buying consortiums, such as Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO). Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from St. John Fisher College, as well as an MBA from The William E. Simon School at the University of Rochester.
